Who's Who in Oaxaca?

Who can tell me the names of the major indigenous groups in the Oaxaca region? If we use the words "indigenous" and "mestizo", what do we mean?

Nahuatl is the native language of Northern Oaxaca. This language is spoken in Sierra Mazatec, the state of Oaxaca. In the north, east, and south areas Mazatec language is spoken. In the western region differnent varieties of Nahuatl are spoken. Oaxaca has a large infulence from the Mazatec culture.

Mestizo is a word that was used in the Spanish Empire describing people who had European and American ancestery who lived in Latin America.

Indigenous means the first people who settled in the land.
